We had an amazing value for our money at Raptor Retreat. The room was luxurious with a fantastic view of the wilderness, and the staff treated us like royalty.
The morning meal could be improved with a wider variety of options.

The accommodation was incredibly spacious, with a lounge, dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen. The two double bedrooms had open shower areas and enclosed toilets. My favorite part was the terrace, which had a comfortable big corner sofa where I could relax and enjoy the passing wildlife. I also had my own plunge pool and Boma, which added to the overall experience. The main lodge was gorgeous, with a large deck overlooking the savannah. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hosts, Keith and Sharmaine, were absolutely brilliant. The breakfast had a great selection of fresh fruit, cereals, baked goods, and hot options cooked to order. And the dinner was a delightful 3-course fine dining experience. Keith, our guide, was so entertaining and had a knack for spotting wildlife from miles away. We were lucky enough to see lions, elephants, giraffes, and zebras. The proximity to the reserve allowed us to have up-close encounters with animals. it was a fantastic experience.
Nothing that I didn't like.

We had an amazing stay at Raptor Retreat. We stayed for 4 nights and the game drives were fantastic, with knowledgeable and passionate guides. The lodge staff were friendly and attentive, and we loved the little treats left on our pillows. The lodge itself was luxurious and had a fantastic view of the wilderness. The food by Chef Constance was delicious and varied. it was a wonderful experience and we highly recommend this hotel.

I always stay at this amazing place in Hoedspruit. The staff is so helpful, they even found my lost earring. It has everything I need: free Wi-Fi, car park, air conditioning, and a restaurant. Can't wait to come back this weekend!

The location of the lodge offers a unique experience in the heart of nature, with close encounters with wildlife such as impalas, warthogs, lions, and elephants. Guests can enjoy the breathtaking views of the bush from their spacious and comfortable rooms, like the elephant room, which includes a hot tub and a jacuzzi. the buffet-style breakfast and dinner allow for a social atmosphere, where guests can interact with people from different cultures and enjoy delicious meals prepared by the gracious host, Sharmaine.
The game drives, although led by a passionate guide, lacked the patience and enthusiasm found in other lodges, making the experience somewhat uncomfortable.

The views were breathtaking, with elephants bathing in the waterhole right in front of our table. The food was delicious, especially the salads. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The game drives were amazing, we had the chance to see lions on three out of the four drives. The morning drives were early but totally worth it. The lodge itself was stunning, just like it looked in the photos.
Honestly, there was nothing to dislike about this place. It was an absolute treasure and an experience we will never forget.

The Perfect Escape: Nestled in the heart of a national park, this lodge offers a truly immersive experience. Wildlife Wonderland: The game drives allowed me to see incredible animals up close, making it feel like I was in my very own documentary. Food for the Soul: The communal deck meals were a delightful affair, where I enjoyed delicious traditional dishes that satisfied both my stomach and my spirit. The Plunge Pool Paradise: The private plunge pool in my accommodation was the cherry on top. It was like having my own oasis to cool off and relax in after a long day of adventures. Spa-tacular: Indulging in a hot stone massage was an absolute treat. It melted away any remaining tension and left me feeling rejuvenated and pampered. Technology and Tranquility: The lodge strikes the perfect balance between modern amenities like wireless internet access and the serene ambiance of the lobby fireplace.
Mice Mischief: Mice occasionally found their way into the accommodation, causing some minor disruptions during the night.

The private plunge pool in our cottage was a godsend, especially in the scorching Hoedspruit heat. It felt like having our own little oasis in the middle of the wilderness.
Disappointing game drives.
